What's included in your free chart

Your Sun, Moon & Rising Signs

The core identity trinity — your Sun sign reveals your fundamental nature, your Moon sign governs your emotional world and instincts, and your Rising sign describes the mask you wear and how others first experience you.

All 10 Planetary Placements

Mercury through Pluto, plus Chiron — each planet placed in a specific zodiac sign that colors its expression. Mercury in Scorpio thinks very differently from Mercury in Gemini. Your chart shows exactly where every planet was.

12 House Placements

The 12 houses divide your chart into life domains: career, relationships, home, creativity, and more. A planet in the 10th House of Career expresses very differently from the same planet in the 4th House of Home. Your house placements reveal where each energy operates.

Aspect Patterns

Aspects are the geometric angles between planets — conjunctions, trines, squares, sextiles, and oppositions — that reveal how the energies in your chart relate to and challenge each other. They are the grammar of the birth chart.

How to read a birth chart: FAQs

What is a birth chart?
A birth chart (also called a natal chart) is a map of the sky at the exact moment and location of your birth. It shows the positions of the Sun, Moon, and all the planets across the 12 zodiac signs and 12 astrological houses. It is the foundational document of Western astrology — a symbolic portrait of the energies present at the beginning of your life.
What do I need to generate my birth chart?
You need three pieces of information: your birth date (day, month, year), your birth time (as exact as possible — even the hour helps), and your birth location (city and country). The more precise your birth time, the more accurate your house cusps, Rising sign, and Moon position will be.
What if I don't know my birth time?
You can still generate a meaningful birth chart without your birth time. Most planetary positions change slowly enough to be accurate for the full day. The main things you lose without a precise birth time are your Rising sign (Ascendant), your house placements, and — if you were born near a sign change — your exact Moon sign. You can request your birth certificate from the vital records office of your birth country to find your recorded time.
What is my Rising sign?
Your Rising sign (Ascendant) is the zodiac sign that was rising over the eastern horizon at the exact moment of your birth. It changes approximately every two hours, which is why an accurate birth time is essential to determine it. The Rising sign shapes your outward personality, physical appearance, and the lens through which you experience the world — it is the 'you' that others meet first.
How do I read my birth chart?
Start with the 'big three': your Sun sign (your core identity), your Moon sign (your emotional nature), and your Rising sign (your outward manner). Then explore where each planet falls — both in sign and in house. The sign a planet occupies describes the quality of its energy; the house describes the life area where that energy operates. Our complete guide walks through the process step by step.
What is the difference between a Sun sign and a natal chart?
Your Sun sign — the zodiac sign most people know from horoscopes — is just one of many placements in your full natal chart. It describes the sign the Sun occupied on your birthday, which is the same for everyone born in roughly the same month. Your full natal chart includes the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, each in a specific sign and house, creating a configuration unique to the exact moment and place of your birth.
Are birth chart readings accurate?
Astrology describes archetypal patterns and psychological tendencies, not deterministic outcomes. A well-interpreted birth chart offers genuine insight into personality, recurring life themes, and developmental timing — but it is a map, not a script. The value of a birth chart lies in the quality of interpretation: understanding what each placement means in the context of the whole chart, and how the planets relate to each other through aspects.
